Based on the opened form of the outer husk, or burr, of the chestnut, these bowls are cast in aluminum and polished to take on the colors in and around them.
Like the Edo Bronze Sink we designed for Stone Forest, the original pattern for these tabletop vessels was sculpted by Tod Babick. It was never intended to become the production master. It was supposed to be quick foam model to show Designldeas, but it was sculpted so cleanly and accurately that they sent it to the foundry. Before we knew it, production samples arrived at the office.
